Summary: This position is located in the Southeast Water Supply Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the general direction of an immediate supervisor. The Water Supply Mechanic Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing front-line supervision and administrative support. The duties performed by employees in this classification require previously acquired supervisory skill. The employee must also possess knowledge of equipment mechanics and skill in performing maintenance and repair of the existing pipeline and pump station, facilities, equipment, machinery and components. Essential job functions include: supervising the maintenance and repair of facilities and machinery, such as pumps, motors, and generators; preparing and monitoring daily work schedules; overseeing emergency call-outs and repairs at various facilities; compiling data for work-activity reports; maintaining equipment and supply inventories; verifying daily vehicle and equipment inspections; purchasing and procuring goods and services; coordinating training activities; ensuring staff compliance with operations standards and safety policies and procedures; performing other related duties as required. The employee has frequent contact with other City employees, contractors, etc. Assignments are received in verbal and written form with unusual situations referred to the immediate supervisor. Due to direct occupational health, safety and environmental concerns associated with performing both routine and non-routine water operations, maintenance, and production tasks, the Water Supply Mechanic Supervisor is a safety sensitive classification. Summary: The General Manager serves as the chief executive and management official of the organization reporting directly to the District’s Board of Directors. The General Manager is responsible for all business operations (administrative, financial, technical and external affairs) and manages a small team of staff and contractors. The General Manager must be able to lead the team, delegate, and play to the strengths of others. The General Manager must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be capable of clearly communicating difficult issues with candor. The General Manager works collaboratively to bring together groups of diverse interests in complicated and sometimes contentious matters. The General Manager is expected to offer creative solutions to the Board that take into consideration the varying water-related priorities and perspectives of the District’s diverse constituency. The General Manager represents the District’s broad range of constituents and priorities at conferences, speaking engagements and on local, statewide, and national matters, as directed by the Board. The General Manager must be able to work and negotiate with other stakeholders throughout Colorado and other Colorado River basin states in a professional manner, seeking win-win solutions whenever possible.
