Information about Jess Baldwin
This memorial scholarship is named in honor of Jess Baldwin, a long-time friend and employee of NWRA. In 1999 Jess was honored with Distinguished Service Award and its highest award, a Lifetime Membership, in recognition of his outstanding contributions. A dedicated man with great energy, he was always willing to help others and was loved and respected by everyone he met. Jess' outgoing personality, integrity, and strong work ethic made him an invaluable asset to this office.
Funding:
The Jess Baldwin Memorial Intern Scholarship is funded from the proceeds of the annual Jess Baldwin Memorial Golf Tournament that takes place during the Western Water Seminar. NWRA members pay to participate in the tournament and for sponsorship flags at each hole. The tournament's lucheon and prizes are also sponsored by NWRA members.
Job requirements:
The selected student will assist in planning the NWRA Summer Meeting including the Jess Baldwin Memorial Golf Tournament. This position will require an organized, detail-oriented approach. In order to provide a well-rounded Washington experience, attendence of Congressional hearings, assisting in lobbying activities and writing for NWRA publications will also be required.
Compensation:
This postion pays approximately $250/wk based on forty hours.
